Pearl cafritz

Originally from Saratoga Springs, Pearl Cafritz’ journey to becoming a mixed media curator started off when she opened her first show of crayon, beads, hot glue and puff paint in her bedroom at age seven. As a consummate student of art, her diverse background in exhibit installation and art handling took her to museums like The Guggenheim, The American Museum of Natural History, The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and The Whitney. Pearl has also been an art world entrepreneur, starting her own art handling company inspired by the Art Basel scene in Miami, Florida. In recent years, she’s brought her skills back to Upstate New York at the prestigious art center destination---Salem Art Works. There, she was the Executive Director while helping shape the new voices of fine art in the region. Now her new venture is Rooted in Salem - a contemporary gallery that will launch in the spring of 2024.

Pearl resides in Salem, NY with her husband, Anthony Cafritz, two incredible kids, and three super-loyal dogs.
